Polo Ralph Lauren Announces Executive Appointments to Support Global Supply Chain Initiatives
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 15, 2005--Polo Ralph Lauren (NYSE: RL) today announced executive appointments to support the Company's growing global business and desire to achieve supply chain excellence. The Company has promoted Howard Smith to Divisional Senior Vice President of Supply Chain Operations and Robbin Mitchell to Divisional Senior Vice President of Business Process Integration, effective immediately. The Company also announced that David G. Rush will join the company as Vice President of Supply Chain Integration effective November 29, 2005. All three executives will report to Russ G. LoCurto, Senior Vice President, Supply Chain, Logistics and Operations.

Prior to this promotion, Mr. Smith was Senior Vice President of Supply Chain, Europe and was based in Geneva where he was responsible for Polo Ralph Lauren's European logistics operations and new state-of-the-art facility in Parma. Mr. Smith now will have responsibility for Polo Ralph Lauren's North American supply chain operations and will be based in Greensboro, NC. Mr. Smith brings extensive industry expertise to his new position combining experience from his previous role at Polo Ralph Lauren with senior level positions in both the wholesale channel and third party logistics. Mr. Smith was instrumental in the consolidation of the Company's European distribution centers into one central distribution center in Parma, Italy. Mr. Smith has prior experience in the wholesale channel as the Head of Logistics at Selfridges in the UK and with third party logistics providers with P&O Trans European and Salvesen Logistics.
Prior to her promotion, Ms. Mitchell was Vice President of Supply Chain Business Process Integration as the project manager for the integration and execution of a global wholesale information system incorporating forecasting, replenishment, sourcing, allocation and shipping. In addition, she was also responsible for vendor-managed inventory programs across all divisions.
Ms. Mitchell joined Polo in 2001 as Vice President of Wholesale Replenishment for Polo Brands, responsible for managing all aspects of our Men's wholesale replenishment business. Before joining Polo, Ms. Mitchell spent five years with McKinsey & Company, Inc., managing and leading consulting project teams in the retail and apparel industries.
Mr. Rush joins Polo Ralph Lauren on November 29, 2005 and he will be responsible for Polo Ralph Lauren's supply chain design and architecture and new business integration. He will be based in Greensboro, NC. Mr. Rush's career highlights span 19 years in the retail, consumer products, direct marketing and e-commerce industries, which are characterized by the implementation of innovative solutions that frequently become industry benchmarks. He has extensive experience in developing logistics strategies, facility and systems designs, implementation and start up of state-of-the-art distribution centers as well as the implementation of merchandise flow processes. Most recently, Mr. Rush led KSA's supply chain execution practice in Europe from 2000 to 2004.
