Polo Ralph Lauren Responds to Litigation With United States Polo Association
NEW YORK, July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Polo Ralph Lauren (NYSE: RL) comments on ongoing litigation with United States Polo Association and its licensee Jordache.
"This filing is the latest in a series of four lawsuits over the last 15 years in which the United States Polo Association has unsuccessfully attempted to persuade judges that it has the right to sell products that we believe customers will think are Polo Ralph Lauren products.
"No fewer than five judges in federal courts have rejected the United States Polo Association's efforts to infringe the world-famous trademarks of Polo Ralph Lauren.
"We believe that this latest effort, which is no more than a repetition of claims already pending, will be similarly rejected." Les Fagen, counsel to Polo Ralph Lauren.
